The ex-husband of US Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) was arrested for allegedly shoving his 18-year old son and digging his thumb into the teen’s mouth as if he was “going to pull his tooth out.”
An arrest warrant obtained by The Post showed Jayson Boebert was arrested on Tuesday in relation to an incident which involved his son, Tyler, at their home in Silt, Colo.
The incident is separate from the alleged fight between Boebert and his former wife that took place on Jan. 6 at Miner’s Claim Restaurant.
Garfield County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at Boebert’s home around 1 a.m. Tuesday after Tyler called 911 and told a dispatcher that his father was drunk and had a rifle, according to the arrest warrant.
“Tyler described that Jayson shoved him by placing one hand in the area of his throat/neck and pushing back,” wrote Dept. Cid Ramirez in the warrant. “Tyler became upset at this point and a physical altercation began between Jayson and him.”
The deputy added that when the fight between the father and son escalated, Boebert allegedly “stuck his right hand thumb into Tyler’s mouth … [and] Tyler felt that Jayson was going to pull his tooth out.”
Tyler got a hold of his cell at some some point during the alleged fight and managed to call his mother, who then told her son to call the cops.
Boebert was allegedly upset his son was lying on a bed with a laundry basket full of clothes and grabbed the teen’s phone before allegedly assaulting him.
“Tyler advised that because Jayson was under the influence of alcohol, he was clumsy and dropped the phone several times,” the deputy wrote. “Tyler believed Jayson was under the influence because he was only clumsy when he drank alcohol and he has slurred speech.
Cops arrested Boebert on Tuesday for prohibited use of weapons, harassment, and assault in the third degree for the incident with his son— all misdemeanors.
Boebert’s arrest follows the Jan. 6 incident at the Miner’s Claim restaurant in Silt, where he called the cops on his ex-wife and claimed she had socked him in the face in a case of “domestic violence.”
Silt Police said it took an officer at least eight attempts to get Boebert out of the crowded restaurant, according to a court report.
Lauren Boebert told the cops she and Jayson were in their former marital home when they had a conversation about their “new partners.”
“Lauren explained to Ofc. Morrison that Jayson is hurt and she believes he is doing this tonight to make her suffer like he is after the divorce,” Silt Police Officer Terran Farnham wrote in a report.
The firebrand republican told cops her ex drank three Tequila shots when they were at their old residence. She also said Jayson tried to “come at her,” but she pushed him away and told him, “Don’t touch me, like do not touch me.”
The pair decided to continue the conversation at Miner’s Claim restaurant, where Boebert kept drinking.
“Things got heated as both parties argued, at one point Lauren admitted to placing her finger on Jayson’s nose to end the conversation. … Lauren stated Jayson told her, ‘Congratulations, your name is going to be in the headline,’” Farnham wrote in his report.
Cops said Boebert refused to cooperate and yelled at the cops, “I’m gonna drink some drinks before the f—-r closes. I’m gonna get so f—ing drunk. I don’t even wanna talk to you motherf—–s.”
Boebert also was arrested for disorderly conduct, third-degree trespass and obstruction of a peace officer.
However, in a statement released Wednesday, Silt police said although Jayson claimed he was punched in the face, officers saw no visible marks on him.
They added: “During the course of the investigation over the next several days, Silt Police learned the restaurant had no video surveillance that was actively recording during business hours.
“No direct witnesses have come forward … Jayson Boebert contacted Silt Police to recant any claims of domestic violence. Due to a lack of any evidence, the allegations of Domestic Violence against Rep. Lauren Boebert are unfounded and the investigation into Rep. Boebert is closed.”
Boebert said he “overreacted” when he initially called cops to Miner’s Claim restaurant, according to an interview he did with Westword.
“I just gave her a one-handed hug and told her I’m sorry for everything,” Boebert told the publication. “I mean, I’ve hurt her, man. She didn’t want this; she wants to be married. She wants to have this happy family.”
He added, “I was upset. I was worked up. I spent the whole day just kind of meditating over everything. Wish I had been a little bit better about it. I probably shouldn’t have went down there [to Miner’s Claim].”
The couple married in the mid-2000s, but divorced in 2023 citing irreconcilable differences.
Lauren Boebert also has a track record of minor arrests, including for disorderly conduct and missing court summons.
She also allegedly got into a bathroom shouting match with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) last year.
The Republican also made headlines in September after she and her her former boyfriend, Quinn Gallager, attended a musical performance of “Beetlejuice.” Video captured the congresswoman groping Gallager’s crotch and her blowing a plume of vape smoke into the air.
